Times of Day
This photo was taken at night- I used the round railings as a framing mechanism. I wish there was more light so the green of the circle came out better- but overall I really like the composition of this image.
Residential- To me residential means where urban meets nature- so I love how this image encompasses that definition- the green plant is literally encompassing the brick building- this image was taken in the afternoon- and I live how the green and red contrast off each other.
Natural- This image was very hard to pull off. I was playing around with my manual setting on my camera and it took several times to get it right- or even close to what I wanted. This image was the biggest learning experience of the three images we had to produce.
Contact Sheet- narrowed down
Overall assignment- This project was a big learning experience. My external hard drive stopped working- so I am dealing with the manufacturer for them to remedy the situation. Also the printer was not working so I couldn't print my photos- I was able to post on the blog (yay) so the printing will be done on a later date.

White Balance assignment
This assignment started out a lot harder than i anticipated. I had the flu and was not able to present this project for 9/16 class. I thought it was amazing how a simple camera settings with iso could dramatically change the overall mood of the entire image. These images were taken during a sunny day- but the blue-ish tones could really make a picture pop if it had the right lighting. The blue-ish setting was achieved from shooting in an fluorescent iso setting- I will be trying different iso setting in the future to help achieve different moods for my photographs.

My Favorite Scanograms
This image was done by one of my classmates-Topher. I really like how the one egg was blurred in the lower right hand corner. Maybe it was rolling- but the effect is fantastic and I love this picture. The black and white color makes it really stand out.
This image is also amazing. It isn't a face but I love how Marley used shapes and her hair (or someone else's) hair to create the illusion of someone wearing the mask. The black background makes it really pop.

Scanner as a a Camera
I found this assignment a little difficult. I started off wanting to express myself through found objects. I started off cutting up magazines and then I realized I was going to use more 3D objects instead of 2D. The black rose started off as representing death but it turned into something more. It became to mean something different from the norm- and the placement of my hands that I used in other scans almost look "corpse like" or "mannequin like" and I wanted a black background throughout my scans to create a harsh contrast with other colors. After the whole project was over, two stood out- the hand scan with the pearls and the hand scan with the wine glass. I really want to explore the scanograms in the future- with more hand shots because I really believe I can expand on my first attempt.
